Sandra Fabara, famously known as LADY PINK, entered the gritty NYC subway scene in 1979 as a high school student and quickly became the undisputed 'First Lady of Graffiti'. Star of the historic 1983 hip-hop movie 'Wild Style', her work seamlessly fuses surrealist socio-political storytelling with explosive aerosol letterforms, and resides in the permanent collections of MoMA and the Whitney.
“Graffiti gave women a voice in a ruthless boy's club. We showed the world that courage, style, and monumental public scale belong to everyone.”
